Snapchat now has more than 180m daily users. These users spend an increasingly vast amount of time engaging with augmented reality lenses - in 2018 nearly 33 million lenses were viewed each day. The social communications & media service now generates $1.3bn per year and takes in as much as 6 percent of global mobile video advertising revenue. But growth can no longer come predominantly from new users in developed markets, but must come from greater existing user engagement, new ad products, and improved ad sales, such as from Snap's AR lenses platform.
